Alan James

Alan James is a Midlands-based producer and DJ, who focuses mainly on bounce music. He loves incorporating 8-bit sounds into his tracks. Alan’s roots into music production stem back to the late 1990s, spending countless hours messing about with a Music game for his PlayStation and mixing vinyl on a pair of belt drive turntables. He started taking music more seriously in 2015, upgrading to FL Studio and primarily making bounce music, while also drawing inspiration from genres such as hard house, trance, hardcore, hardstyle and 1980s synthpop. Alan’s first DJ set came in 2018 and enjoys testing out new productions on an unsuspecting dancefloor. He is a resident DJ for Birmingham’s Bring The Bounce Back and has also performed for Juicy, Splat, Convergence and Don’t MIND Us. Alan firmly believes in being as creative as he can be with his productions, daring to take remixes in whole new directions. He has worked with many bounce producers, usually taking an engineering role, and has had track releases on Bounce Heaven, DNZ, Cheeky Tracks, Chubby Choons, Full Circle, Pumped, Lightning Trax, Cantina Records, Stomp and more… and, of course, Excite!
